Community participation has a main role in community development as its one of the basic pillars of development in general. And as we believe in the importance of civic engagement from all the segments of the society and most importantly from youth as they are one of the marginalized groups and without their participation in public affairs, no change will take place. And accordingly if the youth didn’t acquire knowledge, skills and guidance they won’t have the capacity to make a difference. AlMahrousa provides training programs with the aim to promote youth civic engagement through training them on the principles of the civic life and democracy, and its application on the ground and how to measure its compliance with international standards.

The Organization’s interventions to ensure the achievement of civil engagement are as follows:

• Search for methods to include civil engagement in the strategic plans.
• Follow up and study policies and practices that support the spreading of civic engagement.
• Study and document effective strategies and good practices on civic engagementconcepts and practices.
• Communicate with community institutions, support and strengthen their capacities to ensure civic engagementopportunities for all segments of society.
• Lead campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of civic engagement.
