Migration is increasingly recognized as an important factor in achieving all three pillars of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental. AlMahrousa Organization helps the governmentand the international community in harnessing the potential of migration development for both migrants and communities.
The aim of AlMahrousa Migration and Development Program is to contribute to a better understanding of the links between international migration and development in order to harness the development potential of migration for the benefit of both communities and migrants and to contribute to sustainable development and poverty reduction.
AlMahrousa also tackles the root causes that led to migration, through interventions in the most vulnerable areas prone to migration due to economic motives and AlMahrousaachieves this through making income generating activities, and harnessing resources for socio-economic development. The organization also has interventions to promote social inclusion between migrants and host communities through advocacy campaigns. The organization’s plan is in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which providesa strong link between decent work and migration in thesustainable development goal regarding promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
